Video Lecture Platform Echo360 Nears $5 Million Raise

HEAR HEAR: Echo360, a video platform for higher and continuing education, has raised $3 million of a $5 million round, according to a filingwith the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The Reston, Va.-based company has raised the money from 11 investors.

In January, the company announced 40 percent year-over-year sales growth in the fourth quarter thanks to a new campus video management portal, Universal Capture.

The company claims that its platform is licensed every year by over two million learners and thousands of institutions, associations and employers across 30 countries. By July 2017, the company had raised $169 million in total funding. Acquisitions by Echo360 have included ThinkBinder in 2013and LectureTools in 2012.
